Ken & Cook

Ken & Cook

Ken & Cook is one of many countless new spots that have been opening along the Bowery over the last few years.  These days it has become a weekly occurrence.  Ken & Cook is located in the former Travertine spot.  Couldn’t be happier that abomination closed.  Ken & Cook is a far better concept with a really nice raw bar to the left when you walk in.  It loses it a bit with their heavy … Continue reading

Balaboosta

4/10/2011 Balaboosta is Yiddish for ‘perfect housewife’ and modeled after the Chef’s Aunt, who’s large portrait is featured prominently in the dining room and on the website. Baby Blue Line

Baby Blue Line

I discovered this shop after I got my hair cut at Belissimo on Mott.  My stylist Fredi has been cutting my hair in random friends’ salons while he’s between gigs.  This time it landed me right in front of my new favorite boutique.  The windows drew me in where I discovered a great assortment of tops, tunics and dresses.  I grabbed a card and said I’d be back. Since I’d seen the shop I was … Continue reading
